TCF IRN - exam on computer

Prerequisites

  • Respect a period of 30 days between two TCF examinations.

Contents

  • The Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF) for Integration, Residence and Nationality (IRN) replaces the TCF ANF and TCF CRF.
  • The test is computer-based.
  • The TCF IRN meets the new requirements introduced by the French Ministry of the Interior:
  • Obtaining a long-term resident card Acquiring French nationality
    Required level Level A2 (oral and written comprehension and expression tests) Level B1 (oral and written comprehension and expression tests)

    The TCF IRN can also be used as part of the validation of level A1 (parcours citoyen OFII).

    The TCF IRN is made up of 4 compulsory tests :

    1 Listening comprehension
    2 Written comprehension
    3 Written expression
    4 Oral expression

    + Exam preparation course:

    A one-hour session is set aside for preparation before the exam. This is a methodology course to help you make the most of your chances of passing the TCF. It includes

    1. Familiarize yourself with the TCF IRN exam / how to take it, the exam material, the different tests, the formats of the questions and the expected answers.
    2. Develop listening and reading strategies.
    3. Discover sample questions

Registration formalities

    • You must attach your photo ID or passport in the “My account” area.
    • You will receive an invitation to the TCF exam by email at least 1 week before the start of the tests.

Important

      • Your results will be sent by email within 4 weeks.
      • The result certificate is valid for 2 years.
      • A partial refund or postponement to the next session may be requested for a fee, subject to availability, on presentation of proof of medical, professional or transport incident (strike or delay on the day of the tests). The justification must be written in French and sent no later than the day after the tests to tests_examens@aflyon.org.
