DELF A1 exam

DELF A1 exam validates your elementary language skills, considered as a social actor. You must be able to carry out simple everyday tasks. 

The DELF A1 is composed of 2 tests :

  • a group test (1h20) which includes exercises in listening comprehension (0h20), reading comprehension (0h30) and written production (0h30),
  • an individual test in 2 parts : preparation (0h10) of an oral presentation (5 to 7 min) consisting of an interview, a monologue followed by an interactive exercise.

Each part is marked out of 25 points, the total is out of 100 points. To pass, you need to score 50/100, i.e. 50%. The minimum score required per test is 5/25.

Oral tests are necessarily held after the written tests.

Registration formalities

To register, you must upload the following documents through your online account in “My official documents”:

  • Identity card or passport (with photo).
  • If you have already taken DELF exam: DELF registration certificate, transcript of marks or copy of diploma including your candidate number.

Invitation to the exam: up to 1 week before the exam, you will receive your invitation by email.

Important

  • Your results will be sent by post within 6 weeks.
  • Your diploma will be sent by post approximately 6 months after the examination date.
  • Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive a diploma valid for life.
  • A partial refund or postponement to the following session, for a fee and subject to available places, may be requested on presentation of medical, professional or transport incident proof (strike or delay on the day of the tests). The justification must be written in French and sent no later than the day after the tests to tests_examens@aflyon.org.
